YCN CATH KIDSTON - CONCEPT STATEMENT

Rationale:
What are you going to do?
Why are you going to do it?
Who are you doing it for?
How are you going to do it?

What are you going to do?

1. Create a concept for the conversational print, and research accordingly.
2, Design/Produce three colour variations of a print in standalone version, and repeated tile, to show the conversational print.
3. Ensure the conversational print sends the right message, and is directed at the target audience.

Why are you going to do it?

1. Because I aspire to be the target audience when I reach 29, and want to live a day as she would for inspiration.
2. To put my name out there in various fields of graphic design, showing versatility and design strengths.
3. I am going to create an original concept which hasn't been used in this medium before to stand out and appeal to the brand and it's current aesthetics/identity.

Who are you doing it for?

1. Cath Kidston
2. The target audience, Female, 29.
3. Myself.

How are you going to do it?

1. Research - Primary and Secondary.
2. Drawing and Illustrating a theme - Hand rendered and digital.
3. Communicate a concept as a conversational print.
4. Consider colour palettes

What do you aim to produce?

1. A new, conceptual and conversational print based around the idea of Festivals and Weather in the UK
2. A new conversational print in stepped out views and tiled views.
